The Origin and Meaning of Yodzu™

What does the word Yodzu™ mean?

Yodzu™ is part of a Japanese word meaning to watch and protect. Watching your website and protecting you from unreported downtime is exactly what Yodzu™ is all about, so what better name for it? And you thought it was just made up.

Where did the idea for Yodzu™ come from?

Like so many other website owners and administrators, the developers of Yodzu™ were frustrated every time they discovered that their website had gone offline or become otherwise inaccessible without them knowing about it. Unable to find a suitable or affordable third-party notification solution, they developed our first monitoring device as their personal tool. It proved to be so useful and versatile that they began offering the service to others while continuing to enhance its functionality.

Today, Yodzu™ is a membership-based monitoring service that can keep a watchful eye over any website in the world. It is still privately owned, supported by our modest membership fees. We are proud of what Yodzu™ has become, and we hope you will find it to be as useful and as indispensable a tool as we have.
